Field notes on prospecting

Check your suburb

Privacy policy

How we handle the details you give us on this website. Last updated 5 October 2026.

Who we are

First Knock is a product of Flindev Pty Ltd, an Australian company ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website and the enquiries made through it. It doesn't cover the First Knock service itself, which is governed by each customer's agreement.

What we collect

When you check a suburb or book a walkthrough, we collect your name, mobile number, work email, agency and the suburb you're interested in, plus your permission for us to contact you about it.

For basic abuse protection we keep a short-lived, salted hash of your network address rather than the address itself. It is deleted within about 20 minutes.

How we use it

We use your details only to check your suburb's availability, contact you by phone or email about a walkthrough, and keep a record of your enquiry. We don't add you to a newsletter, sell your details, or share them with other agencies.

Where it's stored and for how long

Enquiries are stored in a private database run on Cloudflare's infrastructure and are deleted automatically after 90 days. A copy of each enquiry is emailed to the First Knock team so we can reply; that email is kept in our business mailbox. Our service providers, including Cloudflare and PostHog, may store data outside Australia.

Maps and personal links

To show you an example map near you, we use the approximate city your connection comes from, as provided by our hosting provider. We don't store it. If you open a personal link we sent you, we know that link was opened and use it to show your suburb.

Example maps use street data © OpenStreetMap contributors. The listing, contacts and numbers on them are illustrative.

Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog (hosted in the United States) to understand how people use this page: which sections are read, which questions are opened, where people leave, and anonymised recordings of how the page is used. Every form field is masked in those recordings, and the details you type into the form are never sent to PostHog.

We don't use cookies for this. Analytics data lasts only as long as your visit, and PostHog is set to discard your network address. If you arrive through a personal link we sent you, your visit is linked to that link's code so we know it was read.

We don't use advertising pixels on this site. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.

Access, correction and removal

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Reply to any email we've sent you, or tell us when we call. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Please don't send us client details

The enquiry form is for your own business details. Please don't include information about your clients or contacts.
